Why I Do and You Should "Embrace" Network Marketing Compensation as a 1099, Entrepreneur.

Having spent 35+ great years as a Licensed Health Insurance Agent/Agency Owner...

...As a 1099 Earner, I LEARNED that the "contract levels" of the insurance industry and "override levels" of network marketing had many similarities as you needed to produce sales (customers) and recruit to achieve the highest levels of earnings.

...IN HEALTH INSURANCE: one could move roughly half way up the levels just as an exceptional individual producer or one could request/be offered a recruiter contract based on a minimum production over a specified period of time while recruiting other licensed agent producers (5, 10, even many 100's) and move up the contract levels based on the sales of all producers in your "contract downline".

The main difference between contract levels of insurance and and override levels in network marketing was in insurance there was always someone you needed to please or impress to increase your contract level, this would usually include multiple high level corporate employees with direct influence over your contract as well as the longevity of that contract.

My awesome primary carrier had 12+ levels of commission compensation to offer (and most carriers were similar). Fortunately I (with my agents) was able to achieve the "top level contracts offered" - "plus unspoken bonuses" over the years.

All contract levels were not openly disclosed to a new recruit (agent) and the less you knew the more your upline was earning (an enormous deliberate "Lack of Transparency).

...IN NETWORK MARKETING: the industry flaunts "Income Transparency" and this is an enormous income advantage to anyone considering a 1099 / independent contractor positon and should immediately be embraced because you will never need to look back and wonder why and how long ago that someone "should have" increased your compensation level.

A lot of people are confused about MLM companies and wonder how pyramid schemes can operate in the public eye for so long without getting shut down. Understanding multilevel marketing is key, and here's the weird fact: MLM companies are not illegal, but pyramid schemes are. Where it gets confusing is that many (some people

would say nearly all) MLM companies are pyramid schemes.

Multilevel marketing: Sometimes called direct marketing, home-business franchising, network marketing, affiliate marketing or direct sales, MLM companies are not illegal in the United States. In legitimate MLM companies, salespeople make most of their money by selling products from the company directly to consumers, but they also often make a cut of the downline associate's sales (like in a pyramid scheme, which is why it's all very confusing).

Pyramid scheme: In a pyramid scheme, the primary way a salesperson makes money is by recruiting more and more downline sales associates, not by selling products.
